The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO) recently issued Regulation No. 110,Announce a comprehensive increase in intellectual property related fees starting from August 7, 2025,The average upward adjustment is 24.1%. This adjustment covers major businesses such as patent application, priority processing fees for trademark registration, and issuance of patent certificates.

For companies planning to develop in the Brazilian market, it is recommended to arrange intellectual property application work as soon as possible and strive to complete registration before the implementation of the new regulations to save costs.

List of key contents

Discount Policy and Applicable Objects:

▪ Groups eligible for 100% fee reduction:

Natural persons with economic difficulties registered in the Unified Social Welfare Registration System (Cad ú nico);

Individuals with disabilities registered in the federal government's disability reference system.

▪ The groups eligible for a 50% discount include:

Individuals who do not hold shares in the company or have no relevant enterprises holding shares in the industry to which the project belongs;

Micro enterprises, individual micro entrepreneurs (MEI), and small businesses (in accordance with Supplementary Law No. 123 of December 14, 2006);

• Innovative simple enterprises (according to Supplementary Law No. 167 of 2019);

Research, Technology, and Innovation Institutions (ICT) (according to Law No. 10.973 of 2004);

• Non profit organizations;

Public institutions (only applicable to the handling of their own related affairs).
