ILPO conducts formal and substantive examinations on patent applications, and the Israeli Patent Office automatically examines them based on the order of receipt, without the need for applicants to submit additional substantive examination requests or pay any substantive examination fees. Upon substantive examination, an authorization notice will be issued. Within 3 months after the issuance of the authorization notice, if no other person raises objections, the patent application will be officially authorized. The applicant needs to submit an Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) and attach a list of all prior art before the patent application is granted. The entire process takes approximately 3-5 years.
