Egypt is a multi-ethnic country, but with an absolute majority of Muslims, Islamic law has always been implemented in law. Islamic law is directly translated from Arabic. Egypt implements a strict industrial management system, including a production license system for industrial products and an industrial production planning system.
The trademark law in Egypt consists of the Trademark Registration Regulations and the Trademark Registration Procedure Regulations. The current trademark law in Egypt is Law No. 57 of 1939, which came into effect on April 1, 1940 and has been revised multiple times in 1949, 1952, 1958, 1959, and others. Egypt accepts registration applications for commodity and service trademarks using the Nice classification system.
The protection period of a registered trademark starts from the date of application and lasts for 10 years. After the expiration, an application for renewal can be made, with each extension lasting for 10 years.
For trademarks that have not applied for renewal within 3 months after expiration, the Trademark Office will revoke them.
If a trademark is revoked due to non renewal, others are not allowed to register the trademark in the same product category within 3 years, unless a court ruling supporting the registration is obtained.

The main review content includes legal provisions, whether there is a violation of the prohibition and prohibition clauses, whether there are significant features, and whether there is infringement of prior trademarks. If the review fails, a rejection notice will be issued and the applicant will be required to respond within the time limit specified in the rejection notice. If approved in substance, it will enter the announcement stage.
The registration and announcement period for Egyptian trademarks is 3 months, during which anyone can raise objections to the trademark;
Trademarks that have no objections or whose objections are not valid during the announcement period will be approved for registration.
