The trademark applicant shall submit the application materials to the Guyana Intellectual Property Office (GIPO) and pay the trademark registration fee.
The Intellectual Property Office of Guyana will review the application, including formal and substantive examination.
If the trademark examination is approved, it will be announced for a period of 3 months.
During the announcement period, any interested party or prior owner may raise objections.
If there are no objections or objections are not valid during the announcement period, the registration will be approved and a registration certificate will be issued.
If the whole process goes smoothly, it will take about 12-24 months.
